Kia ora. My name is Michael Carter. I am from Nelson and work as a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in the city. Previously I have worked within our regional health board mental health services. I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist since early 2007 and my main interest of work is anxiety and trauma focused therapy approaches. My experiences have also included those bereaved by suicide, and those within diverse cultures from the regional refugee services. As I grew up spending time in the military on active service, as a registered nurse in many clinical settings and then as a clinical psychologist I have learnt to ask myself of those whom I see “What is lifelike for this person?” In my private life I am a husband, father and grandfather to a loving and caring family system that helps me in my role with those I work with. I am available for contact and to answer questions you may have of me when considering support and help for your needs at this time in your life.
