Currently offering telehealth on Mondays and Tuesdays, Face to Face - Thursdays

Kia ora, I’m Amanda Christian. I’m a registered psychologist (counselling and educational scopes) and have been working alongside adolescents, adults and their families for 20 years addressing a range of concerns they bring. Currently I work with traumatic grief & loss and have been involved with suicide prevention and postvention (facilitator & trainer of bereaved by suicide peer support groups, advisory group member, clinical advisor & trainer for bereavement by suicide) since my daughter died by suicide aged 16 years. This was now 15 years ago. I have two other adult children, their partners and my partner in my life including lots of animals between us.

I believe that you can find a meaningful life again after losing a person to suicide although this may be hard for you to believe right now. By working together, by having hope, patience, unhurried time to mourn, learning the skills to manage those tough emotions, by respecting you culturally and the uniqueness you bring, delivering what you need, with compassion, I look forward to meeting you.

I work in a variety of ways, while keeping to the framework of this mahi. More recently as an EMDR trauma therapist which can be incorporated into this work.
